Sex Crimes

(FREE CONSULTATION)

If you or a loved one has been or may be charged with a capital crime, you should retain counsel before releasing any information to the investigating bodies.

Mashney Law Offices has several highly experienced attorneys. Don’t risk your freedom or worse on a public defender that you can not trust and whose only interest is becoming the next District Attorney. Call “The Law Firm to Trust” and we will fight for your freedom

There are a variety of sex crimes that occur every day. From rape to sexual assault, the victims of these heinous acts are often left with lifelong scars.

Of all crimes, sex crimes tend to be the most aggressively prosecuted by the State of California.  Leading district attorneys and law enforcement take sex crime accusations and charges very seriously.  Even if the accused is innocent, he/she will be exposed to lengthy criminal investigations that may violate his/her privacy and disrupt his/her day-to-day life.  Sex crime accusations and charges can wreak havoc on a person’s career, family, and future.

Anyone can accuse you of a sexual charge, and the evidence is often based on hearsay. A divorce, a casual comment made by a child at school, a relationship between two teenagers, and even clicking on a pornographic web site can all result in sexual criminal charges.

Few areas of criminal law have so many wrongfully convicted people as sex crimes. In addition to facing strong criminal sentences, sex crime charges can destroy your reputation, affect personal relationships and harm your job prospects. With new stiffer laws and registration requirements, sex crime convictions can even limit your ability to find housing.

When someone is accused of committing sex crimes, the public outrage may be so strong that the case is swiftly moved through the criminal justice process. Thus, an innocent party may be charged as "guilty" as a result of society's "quick to judge" attitude. Those who are convicted of sex crimes but have not committed said sex crimes are victims themselves.

When someone is found guilty of sex crimes, he or she may be unable to find gainful employment in the area he or she previously worked. For example, if he or she was involved in law enforcement, it will be improbable to assume that a similar job will be available to a convicted felon.

Similarly, if a person convicted of sex crimes against children has a degree in elementary or secondary education, he or she will never be allowed to teach again. Thus, even if he or she maintains his or her innocence, once the courts have spoken, the proverbial "die" has been cast.

For these reasons, it's critical that you obtain legal counsel when you have been accused of sex crimes. After all, if you allow yourself to be publicly defended, you may not get the representation you need to prove your innocence. Though it may not seem important at the time, finding the right attorney could mean the difference between living a fulfilled life or living one in prison (or in a veritable prison if you cannot go back to work after leaving jail.)

If you are facing a sex crime charge, you need a highly specialized and aggressive defense. Our current political atmosphere has created a witch hunt environment for those accused of sex crimes. These allegations will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law! There are generally no acceptable plea bargains in sex crime cases, as most pleas require you to register for life as a sex offender.

Our law firm is well-versed in sex crimes laws and we have helped many persons successful defend their sex crimes cases. We can provide you with the know-how needed to navigate the court systems, and we offer nonjudgmental counsel to all accused men and women. Our belief is that everyone is truly innocent until proven guilty, and we'll treat your case accordingly.
