Whether it is preparing a complicated family estate plan, representing an elderly client who has been denied Medicare coverage, or negotiating a difficult manufacturing agreement for a business client, Patrick believes that proper planning is key. Patrick does not “sell” pre-formatted trusts or business documents: he works with the client to acquire a thorough understanding of his client’s background and situation and then prepares a solution that is tailored to the particular needs of the client. Patrick’s goal is to relieve the client of his/her worries, so that s/he can do what they do best – taking care of their family/business etc. Patrick’s motto is: “if the client sleeps well, so do I.”
Patrick is from Dublin, Ireland. He received his law degree from the National University of Ireland in 1981 and was admitted to the Irish Bar in 1984. He passed the California Bar in July 1996. He has been practicing law in Orange County ever since, specializing in estate planning, probate & trust administration, elder law, business and transactional law, and taxation. In May 2000, he received a Masters Degree (L.L.M) in Taxation from Golden Gate University.
Patrick is a member of The State Bar of California, The American Bar Association, The Orange County Bar Association, and The Southern California Irish American Bar Association. He speaks frequently to various professional and non-professional organizations and is a featured speaker for the National Business Institute. He is admitted to practice before the U.S. District Court, Central District of California and the U.S. Tax Court.
Patrick believes in service to the community and has received recognition from The Los Angeles Free Clinic and The Harriet Buhai Family Law Center for pro bono work in family law and bankruptcy matters.
